Borrow Pits Planning Permissions Issued

Argyll and Bute Council have now issued planning permission for two Borrow Pits within the Freasdail Wind Farm site. The stone that was won from these two pits was used in the construction of the new wind farm access track and that resulted in a significant reduction in the number of HGVs needing to use the A83 to otherwise import stone.

This modest environmental benefit has also meant that the site access track could be built more efficientlty, working from within the site towards the A83, which resulted in any associated disruption when the connection to the A83 was made, being minimised.

Local contractor, A & L McCrae completed the works and have constructed a high quality access that will stand the test of time.
