December 2015: Tarbert Defibrillator Donation

At a quiz night in the Corner House, Tarbert on Friday 11December, RES handed over a new Defibrillator that they have donated, to the Tarbert community. The quiz night was organised by Duncan Macgregor and was to raise awareness of the Defibrillator as well as generate interest in proposed training on using it and performing CPR to be organised by local paramedic, Lynne Clark. Anyone who hasn’t yet signed up and is interested in receiving training should contact Lynne or Duncan.

In addition to RES's donation, further financial donations (to cover the costs of the external mounting box for the Defibrillator and training materials) have also been provided. These include: Friday's quiz night (£410), Tarbert Bowling Club (£500), coffee morning organised by Donald Blair (£300), local business (£250) and Tarbert Fire Station (£120) along with a Training Defibrillator that was very kindly donated by a local resident. The Tarbert Coop also donated a series of prizes for Friday's quiz night and raffle.

Neil Martin, Development Manager for RES's Freasdail wind farm which is currently under construction on land to the south of Whitehouse, said; "RES is delighted to be able to help out in this way. It is always great to see a community taking the initiative in making sure it is resilient and we hope that as many people as possible come forward to get trained to use the new Defibrillator and ensure they have the skills to maybe save a life."
