Meet the Buyer Event
RES is planning to invest more than £6.9 million into the local economy through our wind farms on the Kintyre Peninsula. We would like to meet local businesses who are interested in working with us to construct our 11-turbine Freasdail Wind Farm, near Whitehouse in Kintyre. RES is also seeking planning permission for 14 turbines at Blary Hill Wind Farm near Glenbarr.
RES is keen to find out as much as possible about local suppliers and contractors to ensure that the economic benefits which will flow from our projects support businesses in the local area. Our wind farms provide opportunities for a range of trades and services, and we are eager to use local employment as far as possible.
RES is holding the Meet the Buyer Event on Wednesday 26th November from 1pm until 6pm at the Templar Centre in Tarbert.
You can speak directly to our procurement and construction teams, and we will be able to provide you with more information about what RES is looking for in contractors and suppliers. We want to find out as much as we can about the services you can offer.
RES will employ local companies during the construction and operation of its wind farms where there are services and supplies to match requirements. Amongst the opportunities during on-site construction are:
- Construction materials suppliers - Concrete, aggregates, building materials
- Construction contractors - Civil engineering, electrical and building contractors
- Plant Hire contractors - Excavation, earthworks, craneage
- Labour hire companies - Engineers, plant operatives, labourers
Projects of this nature inevitably require some workers from outside the local area, so if you have accommodation to let we would also like to hear from you.
We operate to stringent environment, safety and quality standards and these form an important part of our contractor selection procedure.
